Daily Song Share: Remember The Days of the old School Yard, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens)

I actually fell in love with this song when I was a little kid in the old school yard, which thankfully was a more scenic one than the one in the music video. I think one of the reasons I’ve always liked the man was because, as a kid, I felt like he respected┬ákids, as is evident in the lyrics of this song, which seemed to be nostalgic the first time I heard it!

Daily Song Share: Manic Monday, The Bangles

Question: What did Price have in common with songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen?
Answer: They each have a special gift for songwriting, but don’t always do the best versions of the songs they write. Hendrix took ownership of “All Along The Watchtower”, Jeff Buckley took ownership of “Hallelujah”, Sinead O’Connor took ownership of “Nothing Compares To You”, and the Bangles took ownership of this brilliantly written song, which is just that much more interesting coming from a female point of view.
