Happened to hear this track today while in the waiting room at the doctor’s looking around at all the sickies, and it seemed somehow poetic:
I actually fell in love with this song when I was a little kid in the old school yard, which thankfully was a more scenic one than the one in the music video. I think one of the reasons I’ve always liked the man was because, as a kid, I felt like he respected kids, as is evident in the lyrics of this song, which seemed to be nostalgic the first time I heard it!
”Animal, mineral, physical, spiritual…”. Most bases covered, but she forgot emotional.
It’s a pity that commercial radio over-played such beautiful songs as these when I was growing up. It’s pleasant rediscovering and re-interpreting them though.
